Midnight For Charlie Bone
By Jenny Nimmo
Junior Fiction
I recently reread Midnight For Charlie Bone. It was just as entertaining and fun for me as an adult as it was when I was in 5th grade! It’s a great story and is well paced. With magic, special powers, villains, and heroes, I know you’ll love it as much as me.

Scotland’s Melody
By Katie Stewart Stone
Adult Fiction
If you are a fan of Regency romance, you won’t regret reading this book! Warning: if you start this in the evening, you might not want to go to sleep until you finish. I absolutely loved this mesmerizing romance! The drama and the chemistry made me read this in a few hours because I wanted to know what happened next. I will definitely be adding this to my library.

The Murder of Mr. Wickham
By Claudia Gray
Adult Fiction
I liked this book much better than I thought I would. My favorite things about it are the new characters (Jonathan and Juliet), but I think I would have liked it better if there had been more new characters, and less Austen characters all mashed in together at once. Early in the book, I didn’t think the author was doing all the characters justice, but in the end I was (mostly) satisfied. Her version of Edward & Fanny really didn’t fit how I personally remember them. Nevertheless, I think any lover of Austen and mystery will find it well worth their time.

The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place: The Mysterious Howl
By Maryrose Wood
Junior Fiction
This book series was a wonderful find! I enjoyed all the characters, especially Penny and her constant teaching of the incorrigible children, as well as the reader. You learn about manners, navigation, theater, idioms, etc. And then there is the mystery of where the children, Alexander, Beowolf, and Cassiopeia (affectionately called Cassiowoof) come from. Who are Penny’s parents, and are they still alive? Why does Lord Ashton act so strange? It was laugh-out-loud fun and engaging, and the audiobook had the best narrator. She did all the voices for each character. Just a delight! A must-read for old and young readers!

All the Ever Afters
By Danielle Teller
Junior Fiction
We all think we know what happened in the story of Cinderella. In almost every telling of the story, Cinderella’s stepmother is a villain who makes Cinderella’s life difficult. This story challenges the reader to see past what we think we know and consider people’s actions based on their past experiences and trials. The author also guides us to question if the stories and rumors we hear in life are based on real fact. This is a captivating and intriguing tale of what might have actually been true in one of the most well known fairy tales ever.
