The Little Library Cookbook: 100 Recipes From Your Favorite Books
By Kate Young
Nonfiction
What an enjoyable read! In The Little Library Cookbook, Kate Young has written a cookbook inspired by literary foods. From Harry Potter’s treacle tart to Bridget Jones’s leftover turkey curry, each recipe is accompanied by a quote from the book as well as a memory the author associates with reading the book. The author now lives in London, and many of the recipes seem very British (pumpkin scones and the above-mentioned treacle tart), but all of the recipes are written in cups and teaspoons and ounces, so they are much easier to attempt than, for example, The Great British Baking Show cookbooks. I haven’t made anything from the book yet, but I still have it checked out for another three weeks. . .
