The Good Place

Directed by Micheal Schur
TV-14 (2016)

The Good Place is quirky and thought-provoking comedy about the afterlife. Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell) is sent to Heaven, aka The Good Place, and soon realizes that it was a mistake. She has to navigate her situation, conflicted between telling the Architect (Ted Danson) and risk being sent to The Bad Place. To make matters more complicated, her soulmate (William Jackson Harper) is a moral philosophy professor who compulsively needs to tell the truth. I love this show because the humor is so clever, and the cast absolutely nails their performance. It poses questions about morality and asks what makes a person good. If you like philosophic humor, this show is for you. Fans of Parks and Rec, Arrested Development, Superstore, and Community might like this show.
