I was recommended The Cruel Prince by a co-worker when I mentioned that there hadn’t been a series that I was obsessed with in quite some time. The Cruel Prince is the first book in the three-part Folk of the Air series by Holly Black. Book one is centered around Jude, a human girl, who is taken dramatically from her home and plunged into the secret land of the faeries, where she must fight for her survival against all, including the faerie prince, Cardan. In this world, nothing is as it seems. Faeries rule by trickery, treachery, and testing loyalties. This book is a page-turner that I could not put down and had me eagerly wanting to read books two and three in the series.
