Coming Home
by Leon Bridges
Pop/Rock Bridges
Coming Home was released in 2015 on Columbia Records, when artist and singer Leon Bridges was just 25 years old. This album feels like it’s meant to be played on a record player, but if you don’t have one, listening on a CD is almost as good. If you do have a record player, though, you’re in luck! The Orem Public Library owns both the CD and vinyl copy. Leon Bridges has a beautiful, smooth voice, perfect for revisiting soul music from the 50s. His style of singing is similar to Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. My favorite song from this album is “River,” which has an old school, southern gospel feel to it.
I’ve listened to this album probably a hundred times and never tire of it. It puts me in a great mood every time. I highly recommend listening to it while making dinner!
