We Should Hang Out Sometime: Embarrassingly, A True Story

By Josh Sundquist
Teen Nonfiction

We Should Hang Out Sometime has to be one of the cutest books I’ve ever read. The story is based on the author’s life, which gives it so much authenticity and makes it all the more relatable and enjoyable. The author tells about all his failed relationship experiences in a funny, lighthearted way, which helps the reader relate to it. The book is broken into sections, and each section is dedicated to one of the people in his life. In each section, he shares the embarrassing interactions and awkward moments he had with his girlfriend at the time. Sharing these situations in the way that he does helps young readers realize how silly these moments can be.

Throughout the book, Josh is analyzing what went wrong in each relationship from a scientific perspective. He often uses funny graphs to help get his point across, which makes the book that much more enjoyable. Overall this book was fun and enjoyable, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good and easy read.
