Grow Food for Free

Grow Food for Free

By Huw Richards
Adult Nonfiction

This nonfiction book offers inspiration and practical advice for starting a garden, growing produce, and harvesting your own food. A few of the ideas are applicable more specifically to the author’s native Wales, but I did find this book a great help in my Utah vegetable garden. The book is easy to read and well-organized, taking the gardener from creating a new bed from scratch all the way through what to grow and where and when. There is a section on pests and diseases, and there is a helpful year-long journal which allows the gardener to get a good idea of what needs to happen and when. I definitely found ideas that I will be putting into practice in my own garden.
